Review: The April Vegan Cuts Beauty Box

May 8, 2015 By Dianne

Vegan Cuts April Beauty BoxI can always count on the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box to prepare me for the month ahead. The curators always seem to know what products I need, and exactly when I need them. April’s box was chock-full of skin care product for the summer ahead, such as insect repellant, sunscreen, and hair texturizer.

What is the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box you ask? It’s a subscription service that sends out a box full of cruelty-free beauty products delivered right to your door once a month. The box contains 4 to 7 samples of cruelty-free cosmetics skin and care products – and sometimes full sized products are included too! If you like the products, full-sized counterparts can be purchased in the Vegan Cuts Marketplace. It’s the perfect way to try new products without spending a lot of money, and it’s a great way to learn about new brands. It’s also wonderful for new vegans who are just beginning to dip their toes into the world of cruelty-free beauty.

The April Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Contained:

Emani Lip GlossEmani Lip Shine
– I love this lip gloss! I received a color called “Social Climber” which is perfect for my skin tone. This creamy gloss is infused with plant oils to keep lips soft and nourished. It contains no harsh chemicals such as petrochemicals, or parabens – something I always look for when buying makeup, especially lip gloss. I don’t want any nasty chemicals on my mouth!

Goddess Garden Organics Sunny Body Natural Sunscreen – I’m pale. And I burn in the shade. I need to wear sunscreen just about anytime I leave the house in the spring and summer months, so this lotion will come in handy. What I really like about it is that it has an Environmental Working Group rating of 1, which is the lowest hazard by the EWG’s standards. It’s made with naturally occurring minerals and natural ingredients like sunflower and lavender.

– Mosquitos think I’m tasty, so this is another product that will come in handy this summer. Most insect repellants are made with harsh chemicals that I don’t want to spread all over my skin, so I appreciate that this is made with natural ingredients such as apple cider vinegar, witch hazel, calendula blossoms, and essential oils.

Petal Fresh Scalp Treatment Conditioner – The summer sun can wreak havoc on my scalp, so this tea tree oil conditioner is very needed. It invigorates the scalp and leaves hair shiny and nourished.

Sea Salt Hair SprayCaptain Blankenship Sea Salt Hair Spray – Ever wonder how to give your hair that beachy look when you’re landlocked? With this hair texturizer, that’s how! This spray is made with Pacific sea salt and organic sea kelp extract and it adds texture and waves to hair.

The Beauty Box is available as a monthly subscription, which means that once you sign up, a new box of products gets delivered to your door every month. If you like the samples in your box, you can order their full-sized counterpart from the Vegan Cuts Marketplace.
