Product Review: The October Vegan Cuts Beauty Box

November 11, 2015 By Dianne

The October Vegan Cuts Beauty Box

I’m sure that most of you chic vegans are familiar with the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box, but newbies may  not have heard of it yet, so let me give you the low down. The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a subscription service that delivers a box of cruelty-free beauty products to your door every month. The products are usually sample sized, but there are times when you’ll receive full-sized products too – like with this month’s October Fields Lip Balm. Subscribing to the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is great way to try products without spending a lot of money, and it’s also a wonderful way to discover new brands. I think it’s really great for new vegans who are just dipping their toes into the world of cruelty-free beauty.

One of the many things that I love about the Beauty Box is that the curators always pick the right products to prepare subscribers for the month ahead. The October Beauty Box contained products to prepare both hair and skin for the chilly fall weather that’s setting.

The October Vegan Cuts Beauty Box

The October Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Contained:

October Fields Original Lip Balm
– The first thing I did when I received my Beauty Box was open this lip balm and apply it to my lips. It’s lip balm season for me, and I can’t get enough of it. I like that this one glides on smoothly and is made with vegetable wax, organic cocoa butter, and organic plant oils.

The Ariel Co Hair Mask – This hair mask is made with natural plant oils, and it’s formulated to hydrate, strengthen, repair, and add shine to hair. It’s perfect for wintertime, when the cold air can dry out normally luxurious locks.

True Moringa with Peppermint Body Oil – This body oil is made simply with cold-press moringa oil and peppermint oil. It’s perfect for hydrating skin, and the minty scent works wonders on a stuffy nose.

Jersey Shore Cosmetics Radient Gold Leaf Highlighter – This is not a product that I would normally buy for myself. In fact, I wouldn’t even think of using it, except that I wanted to try everything in the box before I reviewed it. With a name like “Jersey Shore Cosmetics ” I was expecting this be in-your-face over-the-top, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that this highlighter has a nice subtle shine to it. It’ll be perfect for holiday parties.

Beurre Shea Butter Body Cream – Along with the lip balm, this body cream is my most-used item from this month’s Beauty Box. This rich, vanilla-scented cream is perfect for rough, dry skin. I’m going to need a giant tub of this to get me through the winter!

Lucie Beauty Angled Blender Brush – Most “natural” brushes are made with animal hair, and most synthetic ones are stiff and plastic-like, but this vegan brush is nice and soft. It’s angled for precision application.

The Beauty Box is available as a monthly subscription, which means that once you sign up, a new box of products gets delivered to your door every month. If you like the samples in your box, you can order their full-sized counterpart from the Vegan Cuts Marketplace. The Beauty Box also makes a great holiday gift, and gift subscriptions are available.
