Product Review: The December Vegan Cuts Beauty Box

January 2, 2015 By Dianne

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHave you ever shelled out a lot of money on a skin care product only to start using it and find that you don’t like it? I have. Many times. I have sensitive skin, and certain smells can trigger headaches, so buying a new brand can be a gamble for me. I’ve purchased products and found that they’ve made me break out in itchy bumps or the color doesn’t work as as well with my skin tone as I had hoped. They all have been exiled to my hall closet, never to be seen again. Fortunately, there’s the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box, which allows me to try samples of products without spending a lot of cash.

The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a subscription service that delivers a box of 4 to 7 sample size (or sometimes even full-sized!) beauty products to your door every month. It’s like Christmas all year around, because you never know what lotions, potions, polishes, and cosmetics will be inside. If you like what you’ve tried, you can purchase the full-sized counterpart from the Vegan Cuts Marketplace. My December Vegan Cuts Beauty Box arrived right before Christmas, and it really did seem like a holiday gift.

The December Vegan Cuts Beauty Box contained:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERABellàpierre Cosmetics Nail Color – This nail polish is 3-free, which means that it doesn’t contain dibutyl phthalate, toluene, and formaldehyde. I received Copper Brown nail polish, which is a shimmery light brown color. I usually only paint my toenails, and I’ll be honest, I don’t always get all of the previous polish before applying a new color. I had a dark teal on my toenails, that was a little stubborn, and almost stained my nails when I tried to remove it. I didn’t think the Copper Brown would cover it, but it did the trick! It has also endured through all of the toe-stubbing and general abuse my feet go through on a daily basis.

North Coast Organics Spray Lotion – This homemade spray lotion is made with certified organic ingredients that are formulated to moisturize and protect skin. Ingredients include oils of argan, rose hip, hemp, jojoba, grapeseed, pumpkin seed, and sunflower, lavender, rosemary and essential oils.

Delizioso Skin Care Cream Blush – Cream blush is perfect for this time of year when powders can look a little chalky on dry skin. This blush is made from raw ingredients that nourish and give the look of dewy, soft cheeks. It’s made with all natural ingredients (most of which are organic), such as aloe oil, rice derived vitamin E, and coconut oil.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA21 Drops Essential Oil Therapy – I received Focus oil, which I definitely need for those days when I’m trying to work at my computer, but get too distracted by Facebook, Twitter, email, and new arrivals on ModCloth. It’s been specially formulated to promote clarity and concentration, and it contains rosemary, frankincense, and peppermint essential oils.

Becca & Mars Lavender Love Mask and Scrub – This simple power can be used as either a scrub or a mask by simply mixing with water. It’s made with cornmeal, almond meal, and some of my favorite essential oils – lavender, bergamot, and clary sage. It leaves skin feeling fresh and squeaky clean.

A Vegan Cuts Nail File – Because you can never have too many nail files!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe Beauty Box is available as a monthly subscription, which means that once you sign up, a box of new goodies gets delivered to your door every month. If you like the samples in your box, you can order their full-sized counterpart from the Vegan Cuts Marketplace.
