Accessorize Compassioniately and Fashionably with Truth Belts

November 24, 2014 By Adrienne Borgersen

Truth logoTake it from this Fashionista – it hasn’t been easy to find durable, quality, belts that are not leather and also stylish. I’ve had drawers full of plastic & pvc belts that crack & tear after a few months. Not cute. We have good news at Chic Vegan! Truth Belts, from Canada, offer fantastic leather alternatives that will suit your style.

Renia Pruchnicki

Truth’s founder, Renia Pruchnicki became an entrepreneur after working for years in the fashion industry and one day found herself unemployed. Renia decided to use her ingenuity and creativity to inspire her own fashion line. She chose belts because practically, she could store them at home and also wanted to use materials with which she was familiar. Very smart! That was the birth of Truth Belts and a conscious, evolved message to the world.

Using a variety of fabrics & textiles, she found that the leather-look materials were popular with the vegan community. Recognizing the growing market for leather alternatives, she decided to continue this different angle, combining her unique designs with unusual materials. Renia has developed styles made from things like recycled car tires. Her newest development will be a biodegradable material, slated for release very soon.

The Diva Belt. Blingy!
The Diva Belt. Blingy!

My favorite women’s belt style is the Diva. I like the stylish, faux animal embossing on the belt and the buckle adds a little bling into my life!

I’m also really digging the Seva. The flat buckle keeps my jeans in place without the visible buckle poking through the front of my shirt. Don’t we have enough belly issues? There are other brands that makes this type of belt in plastic, which tends to be too stiff and pop off. The stretch fabric and metal buckle on this brand are durable and stay put!

The really wonderful thing about Truth Belts is the company mission. They are interested in making a difference in the world. Their motto is “Live your truth and respect others”. On their website they state, ”In other words, we respect everyone, even when they live in a way we do not agree with. We are all part of nature and we are all unfolding in different ways. The meaning of love is to witness life unfolding, without judgment. The best thing you can do is to be true to yourself and let that be the inspiration for others.” I think that’s a beautiful way to live.  They also donate a percentage of their sales to an organization called Embracing the World.

I highly recommend you browse the web site for the wide variety of styles not only for women, but men and kids. You will also find a dog collar & leash, a yoga strap, wrist cuffs and a bamboo t-shirt.
