Happy Friday! Meathooks, Chocolate Chili, and Link Party!

November 13, 2009 By Mandi

Happy Friday the 13th!! I hope everyone had a lovely week and is ready to conquer the weekend with either extreme productivity or extreme laziness -whichever you prefer. (Laziness is my fave!)

This week was full of many unexpected twists and turns. I have been presented with some interesting opportunities and have been pondering my future with excitement and passion. It’s amazing how quickly a change of thinking can change your life. The next step is facing fears and moving forward.

My week started off with a glorious feat of strength. Well, for me at least. I accomplished my first (totally vegan) meathook! They call it the meathook because when done properly, it feels like there is a large hook stuck in your chest.

meathook
yay!!

Wednesday I had my “hard” class, which ultimately consists of flailing limbs and immense frustration.  It is totally worth it because I know it will eventually go from “hard” to “not that bad” to “this is cake”. This weekend I am helping teach Girl Scouts how to climb the rope and fabric!

Last night was weekly movie night. I made chocolate chili, which was delicious and SUPER spicy. The kind of spicy that gives you a head rush and makes your nose run like a faucet. EXCELLENT! We watched The Rivers Edge which features a young, incredibly hot Keanu Reeves. While he is not exactly a diverse actor, he sure is good to look at. The movie also featured the never-ending insanity of Crispin Glover. All in all a decent flick, but not one of my movie night faves. Next week: Out of Sight. What should be on the menu?

This week was pretty eventful around the vegan interwebs. And without further ado….some link love.
