This is so exciting to me. I’ve been using Bobbi Brown’s Cleansing Oil, but I wanted to switch to a natural and cruelty free option. I have used olive oil and coconut oil to moisturize, but I had not thought to use either as a cleanser in lieu of the BB version!

I just tried this oil cleansing method and I could see results the next morning. It’s been about 5 days now since I’ve done this and my face hasn’t been this acne free in months! I used Bertolli’s Extra Light Olive Oil, followed by Dr. Bronner’s unscented baby-mild pure castile soap, and then the Thayer’s Alcohol free Lavender aloe witch hazel. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this website. I also bought Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint pure castile soap for the shower. The scent is strong that is why I use the unscented for my face.

In reply to Idun. that's great that you've had sucess with the OCM method! I will have to try a mix of castor oil with my evoo soon! Dr. Bronner's soaps are amazing, I've heard that peppermint oil actually helps regulate the oils in your skin.

Really nice article on the OCM. I use it myself, and I agree it’s really great. I mix my EVOO with castor oil, and funnily enough I use dr Bronner’s soap as well! I love using the oil in the shower as it really feels like the hot steam opens up the pores and cleanses.

Fascinating! Actually I heard Martha Stewart once talking about a smilier method she uses but I think she said she used baby oil! Ick.
