I am so thankful I found you and this post. I am suffering from severe digestive issues and was recently told by the doctor that I have issues with fructose malabsorption. They want me to avoid all fructose for two weeks and then add small amounts of naturally occurring. But I am vegan ( or trying to be) and it also seems that everything I read on foods appropriate for this diet contradicts each other. So I am really confused. I don't know what to eat. It seems I am always starving but everything I eat causes my stomach to swell like I'm pregnant. So it's also hard to meal plan and think clearly. I will spend some time here reading I think . :)

Great article and I do believe that fructose is really bad to our health. I read a lot about it and I changed my eating plan by removing processed foods in my diet. Here's another great article about fructose - http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2010/01/02/highfructose-corn-syrup-alters-human-metabolism.aspx

Great description of Fructose and Glucose...I did not realize that a high fructose intake of fructose could be that damaging to your liver.

Thanks for providing a good motivation to avoid processed sugars and agave.
